Why use a designer?

Designers have a specialized skill set just like any other professional trade. You would never be your own legal representation or do your own plumbing – you would hire a professional to get the job done right the first time around.

Why shop the trade?

The trade offers access to unique and custom pieces to achieve a look that you just can’t get at a retail store. This helps you create a lived in, personalized and put-together environment.

What is your most valued design tip?

Trust your instincts. We live in a world where we love to create rules to live by, but every so often it’s important to be a rebel, especially in design.

What makes your style unique?

Well, first off, there are two creative minds behind every design decision. Our style is an infusion of enhancing yesterday’s classics with today’s luxuries. When our clients let us push their limits 100% of the time that is the element they thank us the most for.

Who is your design icon and why?

Steven Gambrel. His work is historically accurate and architecturally relevant, and that means a lot to us in a world where people are so quick to modernize everything. We also love how he uses very earthy, unpretentious materials but is able to make them seem precious and special in his applications.

What is your favorite movie set?

The kitchen from It’s Complicated.

If you could live in a different time period, when would it be and why?

Definitely New York City at the turn of the century – when limestone mansions were being erected and the city was not yet a jigsaw puzzle of buildings sandwiched next to one another.

What is your greatest indulgence?

Quality bed linens.
