Angelo Donghia Foundation Announces 2014 Scholarship Winners

The Angelo Donghia Foundation held the judging for the twelve 2014 Student Scholarships in Interior Design June 24-25, 2014 at the New York Design Center. Launched in 2002, the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving students who are entering their senior year in a Baccalaureate Degree Program in Interior Design. This year’s winners were selected from sixty student projects submitted by accredited institutions.  Each student winner will receive up to a $30,000.00 scholarship to be applied to his senior year tuition, board, maintenance and books.

2014 Senior Scholarship Program winners are:  Allison Laurenzo, University of Nebraska; Alyssa Overs, Miami University; Diana Gonong, Otis College of Art and Design; Emily Hale, Miami University;Huining Haidy Gong, Art Center College of Design; Izzy Savage, Otis College of Art and Design; Kristen Dusold, Woodbury University;Kuan Chung Tao, Fashion Institute of Technology; Philippine Vidart, Savannah College of Art and Design; Stacie Krug, New York Institute of Technology; Tian Austin Yang, Art Center College of Design; andTracy Manuel, Louisiana State University.

Judges were:  Amanda Nisbet of AMANDA NISBET DESIGN; Charles Pavarini III of CHARLES PAVARINI DESIGNS; David Scott of DAVID SCOTT INTERIORS; Francine Monaco and Carl D’AQUINO OF D’AQUINO MONACO INC.; Brooke Gomez of GOMEZ ASSOCIATES; John Barman of JOHN BARMAN INC.; Laura Bohn of LAURA BOHN DESIGN ASSOCIATES; Jason Kontos of NEW YORK SPACES; Michael Pierce of PIERCE ALLEN; and Ronald Brick of RONALD BRICK & ASSOCIATES, INC.

The Angelo Donghia Foundation provides support for two distinct fields, the advancement of education in the field of interior design; and secondly, initiatives pertaining to the discovery of causes of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and its related diseases and treatments. Since its launch, the Foundation has awarded in excess of $10,075,000.00 to the above causes.
