Elworthy Studio Premieres Clair Obscur Collection of Eco-Friendly Fabric and Wallpaper in BRADLEY

Kate Miller, the textile artist behind San Francisco’s maverick elworthy studio, introduces Clair Obscur, an ethereal new fabric and wallpaper collection represented in the recently opened showroom, BRADLEY. The collection is created with camera-less photo processes “developed” on photographic paper.

Miller blended painting and printmaking techniques with alternative photography to achieve moody, enigmatic effects. After scanning the prints and digitally finessing, the designs are printed with water-based inks onto fine Belgian linen/cotton fabric and sustainable wallcoverings.

Clair Obscur is available as fabric for residential applications, and as wallpaper for residential, workplace, boutique hotels, restaurants and store design. Offered in a lush, romantic palette of inky black, earth tones, metallics, soft teal, and faded pink, the six designs in a total of 19 colorways bring photography’s unique luminosity to wallpaper and textiles. The collection is made entirely with environmentally responsible ingredients, produced in the US, and customizable as to color.
