New Tufted Loop Technique Redefines Kasthall Rugs

Field, a recently released collection from Kasthall Rugs, is constructed in a new tuft quality – LOOP, a bouclé in two different pile heights. This creates two dimensions of stripes, like floor planks, fields plowed in rows, or shadows falling through venetian blinds. Letting the material and yarn be the focus of the rug gives it an honest and clean feeling of raw tweed and crafts. The five color combinations Paris Blue, Rouge, Almond, Porcelain Pink and Blonde are built on a formula of three strands in wool yarn. A raw, cut edge frames and ends the rug, which is available in a wide stripe as well as a narrow stripe).

Maja Johansson’s Madison is tufted in bouclé in two equal pile heights. The surface is made of three-threaded wool yarns to create a cohesive melange in an architectural grid pattern with both broad and delicate lines. The rug’s quality gives it a sturdy and honest feeling and the five colour combinations Bone, Midnight, Olive Twist, Sage and Paper lend the color mix a harmonious balance. The inspiration comes from urban environments and architecture, scaffolding, libraries, silence, poetry, footsteps, knitted pullovers and matelassé.
