 5th Annual First LOOK Event
“The 5th annual first LOOK™ event at the New York Design Center is a destination and must-see event each July for the design community. This annual event is now anticipated and looked forward to each year by designers, architects and dealers. Combining a fine blend of party and purpose, the NYC A&D community networks and views hundreds of products being introduced to the New York marketplace” states Dennis Cahill, leasing director of the NYDC. On July 22nd from 5:00 – 9:00pm, the New York Design Center presented first LOOK™ 2009. Twenty-five top contract showrooms participated and showcased new products. Crowds of people began flooding the NYDC at 4:30pm wanting to be the first to view the 221 new products and enter for a chance to win a Vespa and MoMA memberships! Over 1,200 design professionals attended, including principals, architects and designers from NYC’s established and emerging A&D firms. The contract furniture dealer community was well represented along with increased attendance from corporate and healthcare companies. Design and Facilities Teams from Bloomberg, New York Times, HBO, Bronx Lebanon, New-York Presbyterian, NYU Medical Centers and many more were well represented. The importance of first LOOK™ is not only revealed through the broad spectrum of attendees but also through the innovative products. This year’s products offered beautiful cabinetry, ergonomic seating, intriguing healthcare products and pioneering textiles.
