The time is finally here. It’s the week of the New York Design Center’s fourth annual Masquerade Ball at 200 Lex. Last year’s event raised nearly $90,000 for The Alpha Workshops, and we look to you for support this year. The theme “C’mon Get Happy” provides endless costume possibilities, encouraging guests to wear whatever makes them happy. The design community will embrace the theme and use their style to create unique costumes resulting in a magnificent array of color and sparkle. The Masquerade Ball will offer a night of hip music, outrageous dancing, delectable treats, the always-fun photo booth, and an intriguing tarot card reader.

The Alpha Workshops is the only organization in the country that provides low-income HIV-positive individuals with job training and employment in the decorative arts. For those seeking a return to productive work after struggles with illness, poverty or homelessness, Alpha offers a flexible and supportive workplace where people living with HIV/AIDS can channel their creative energies into a more financially secure future. Masquerade Ball guests will experience the Alpha Workshops’ mission and accomplishments first-hand through the event’s vibrant décor, designed and created exclusively by Alpha’s artists.

Tickets are $150 at the door, with a special VIP ticket introduced this year at $250, all proceeds directly benefiting The Alpha Workshops. The 2009 Masquerade Ball promises to be an unforgettable night of style, surprises and amusement. Surely an event not to be missed!
